And then click on the round spline tool with the single dot [see screen shot] you can see what drawing with a 3-point curve looks and feels like. It is really good for making vectors that are NOT tracing. Bezier curves with the handles are better for tracing existing images, like using a transparent layer. I would be the happiest man on earth if 3-point curves came to VectorStyler.

@Raaskot In this case the join can only be done by selecting both nodes (even if overlapping) and using the join command from the context panel (with the Node tool).
Should it be an option to join automatically?
@monsterfox When using custom shapes as corners, the shapes are not "bent" to the corner angle. They are just attached.
If you need proper rounded corner, use the default corner type.
@ehab In the Paragraph panel menu, select Direction -> Right to Left and then align the text to right.
The OpenType typography features should work automatically (but can be selected in the Typography panel also).
