Why does print option say RGB when file is set to CMYK and uses spot colors?

  • I am trying to test out the print capabilities of VS, especially as how it would relate for screen printers printing out spot color films.

Essentially, I want to print only a specific spot color I have added to the color palette that I named "CMYK Black Spot". I set up my document to use CMYK color and my own spot color palette ase file as the default color palette.

When I go to print, I turn off all the CMYK options and leave on the "CMYK black" custom spot color. I click on "preview" and after flipping through all the options, the last one shows the results I want to print, but it's labeled as "RGB" - would this not say the name of the custom color? Also, it will not allow me to print anything. I click on print and nothing happens at all with the printer.
