Zoom and Simplify Path
-
I noticed if I have a path selected that I'm trying to zoom in on, it brings up the simplify path dialogue box. Would it make sense to change the simplify path to another letter by default? It would make sense to me to let the Z just be a zoom option, whether or not the path is selected. I do like that the option is triggered by whether the path is selected or not - but maybe another default letter?

Hi @Boldline
You can totally customize this yourself: View > Customize > Keyboard Shortcuts (Shift+Alt+Ctrl+K)
Then switch the context to 'Path Editing' and assign a different letter than Z for 'Simplify Path'I love the flexible customization options!

Thanks @syllie ! I will do that. I also love the customization of VS. I shared my concern about it because I felt it would not be a good default key since the Z is so tuned in to Zoom

@Boldline The Z key should always switch to the zoom tool, regardless of selection.
If not, then this is a bug.
I tried to replicate it but I could not.

@vectoradmin By default the keyboard shortcut for 'Simplify Path' in the 'Path Editing' context is set to Z (at least on Win10). Using the nodetool with a path selected does bring up the dialog upon pressing Z. I can replicate this on my 'out of the box' install.

@syllie Of course, I forgot that.
That should not be the shortcut for simplify path in this case.
Will fix this.

@syllie Shortcut for simplify path has been removed in the new build.

@vectoradmin Thanks. Works as expected now (win10).
