Repeating a set of grouped shapes around a circle
-
Asking another "how to" here. What is my best approach to copying a grouped set of vector shapes around in a circle as shown in part in the screen pic I attached below? I need to be able to set the rotation and the distance. repeater?

I use Tranform from object tab.

@Boldline Repeater cannot do this (yet).
But creating a pattern brush might achieve this result.
And to avoid distorting the circles: enable the Rigid Shapes option in the Pattern Brush settings -> Options button. This would also work for repeating those vertical rectangles.

I was debating adding info on the forum about the way Illustrator does this task - the rotate tool (not that it's necessarily the "best" way) to see if we could add this feature in some capacity to VS. but thinking about the repeater idea - that would be an even better solution, instead of adding another tool to a busy VS UI, adding another powerful function to repeater seems better in the long term

@Boldline There is already a plan for having a repeater type "along a path" that is dynamic (repeated objects are updated as the shape is changed).
