How to paste vector objects from VS to Inkscape/Cavalry?
-
I want to paste vector (SVG) objects into Inkscape and Cavalry.
Using Ctrl - C, Ctrl - V shortcut doesn't work. (Inkscape says "Nothing on the clipboard."). Cavalry does nothing.
I tried various combinations from the "Settings/Importing/Copy" options but had no success.Cavalry doesn't import SVGs exported from VS either.
Pasting objects from Inkscape to Cavalry works fine.

@Harry In the Settings -> Importing there is a checkbox "Copy as SVG". Is it checked?
If not try with that.I will test the SVG exporting to Cavarly

If you have a copy of Affinty Designer, Version 1 will be fine
then you could use a way i use from time to time.As i often use different vector tools and then I dont know
which Program is the picky one.One way that works often with SVGs is to use a additional Step
via Affinity Designer. It may sound curious, but it works.via clipboard
VectorStyler > Affinity Designer > Program of choice
and vice versa
VS > AD > Cavalry via clipboard work this way
but not in the other directionswitch to Affinity Designer past it copy it and past it
then

Yes, it is checked , but no success.
@Subpath Thanks for your advice! I have Affinity Designer V. 1 and it worked!
I had to enable the option to "Copy items as SVG" in AD's General Preferences.@VectorStyler I hope VS can do it someday!

@Harry , your welcome
yes, seems that many different SVG Versions exist
It would be nice if there was a barebone one that works
everywhere or most of the time.
