I'm trying to maintain a straight angle as I pull an existing node out either vertically or horizontally. In Illustrator, the user would hold down the shift modifier to maintain a perfect angle. How does this work in VS?

@Boldline is this for dragging a control point, or a node? The node movement can be constrained with Shift.

The node movement can be constrained with Shift.

In this case I was referring to moving the node itself along a straight line of position.

Here is a video showing where I am getting stuck.

If I grab a node and hold down the shift modifier and drag, sometimes it will maintain the same straight angle as desired. Other times, it wants to radically move the node along some other plane. in the video, you can see with both shapes, different nodes react differently to the same holding down the shift and dragging out of the different nodes

@VectorStyler is it normal for some of the nodes to move along a straight line with the shift key depressed, but other nodes change angles like in the video above?

@Boldline I think there is a conflict here between various constrains in the path editor. This might be a bug.
