A usage of Transformation

Would may be helpful if you post also a picture
from one of your results in your post.

To use the Shape Panel for shape transformations
on the original could also be helpful, for more precise
transformations

Open the Shape Panel > Panels > Shape
select your original, set the cursor in a field
cursor up/down changes the value by +1/-1
Shift + cursor up/down changes the value by +10/-10
