Live text still shows wrong font size when scaling with transform tool

Is there a setting I need to adjust to not automatically create a shape effect with live text when scaling it with the transform tool? In the new build 92, if I scale the text, it keeps the same font size and automatically creates the shape effect.
I saw in the notes for build 92 that read, "Scaling text could change the font size, also for default font size." Should that fix this problem? If so, I'm not seeing the fix.

I also have the "direct shape transformation" selected. I know this has been asked before in the past when I brought this topic up
