(072) Composite Mode - cant select a cutting Shape

unable to select, for example, a cutting Shape
its only possible to select the shape via Layer
neither Ctrl nor Isolation Mode works -
@Subpath In the recording, it looks like the composite shape was isolated (listed as top in the Layers panel).
This is not needed, and if isolated, the composite shape mode will not work for the top object shape.Here is how it works for me: https://recordit.co/9U9Fg62vLT
in the context panel, the 3rd mode (composite mode) is selected.

Was then a mistake of my fogged brain
I forgot about the composite mode selection. -
@Subpath BTW: VS also has the same composite shape construction as in AI.
Create a group, and then select an Object -> Composite -> mode on the group.In this case double click isolation works.

Have always avoided it, didn't like the user interface.Coming from Coreldraw, Xara Graphics Designer
but i know more or less many other vector graphic programs
and vector graphic tools
