      Would it be possible to add a pin option to the dialog and menus that open underneath the icons in the UI?
      This would help justify consolidating tools in the dropdown under the icon because the user could click once to open the panel and click the pin icon to leave it open as long as he needed. Pressing the pin again would end it remaining open.

      So for example, the alignment panel, the transform panel, the paste over under, on top icons, the view outline-monochrome, etc. and these transform tools, etc

        @Boldline It can already be "pinned" if you grab its tab and move it.

        MacBook Pro (Intel) running Monterey 12.6.4

          @b77 yes that is true... and maybe that is the best solution. Part of me likes the ability to just open it and have it there as opposed to tearing it off and finding a place for it.
