VS in "un-usable" state e.g. Undo no function
-
@MajorTom One thing to do is to use the History panel (Panels->Editing->History) to see what actions have been take.
Also (if can be replicated with not too many actions) enable the "Store History" in Document Setup -> General options

@MajorTom There were some issues that caused the blocking of undo. These are fixed now in build 1.1.049

@MajorTom said in VS in "un-usable" state e.g. Undo no function:
Undo does not work anymore, suddenly.
Moving object does not work normal anymore. very small mouse movements result in uncontrollable movement of the objects. This is exactly what just happened to me now in v. 1.1.053. I cloned a circle, then tried to move the clone. It went way outside the artboard very fast. After a few undo's, the original circle disappeared while the clone remained on the artboard and visible in the Layers palette. Then undo stopped working completely.

@tudor I tried to replicate the undo issue with 1.1.053 using the described steps, but it seems to be working here.
The glitch with moving is also indicating that the undo was blocked for some reason.
What command was used to create the Clone?
My steps:
- created a new document.
- draw and ellipse
- create a clone using Edit -> Clone.
- move the clone using the mouse.
The above steps worked here.

@VectorStyler I guess the uncontrolled moving of the cloned object ("went way outside the artboard very fast") is what breaks the undo, not any normal steps.
It's the cause for this that needs to be found.

This is more of a symptom than the cause. What we need to know is what happened just before.
But I will now review all undo capturing.

I was unable to replicate the bug again. It just happened while I was testing a new file in CMYK mode with one 31.5"x79" artboard. I had a 300dpi TIFF bitmap placed as a linked file, covering the whole artboard. Also some text and a bunch of vector shapes copied from Affinity Designer. I wanted to duplicate a native Vectorstyler ellipse shape, so I tried the Clone command from the menu. Then when I tried to move the clone, it jumped out of the artboard with a speed much higher than the speed of the cursor.

@tudor Thanks for the info, I will try to work with those steps.
I will also do a manual review of all the possible cases that might cause the undo to stop working.

Just a somewhat diffuse though of mine
but when @tudor talked about quick jumps
of this clone it reminded me a little bit of the transformation
Jumps in Combined Object Mode (Live Boolean)i dont know if i remember it well, but sometime this
Jumps was also happen with Clones in clipped shapesBut as i said, just very diffuse thoughs

@tudor This issue should be fixed now, please let me know if it occurs again.
