Style , expand stroke

Sometimes when using , style :expand stroke I can see the created nodes when hovering over the object with the select tool , but cant edit them with the node tool
Happened a couple of times in a row , after that the pencil tool became complety mute , no colour no thickness etc...
Had to restart vectorstyler
