Converting layers or groups to Artboards

Is is possible to export layers/object groups as separate files or convert them to artboards by selecting from layer panel/file export ?

I am trying to export detached objects created with repeater as individual files.
Any pointers?

@richbyte The closest to this I think is the Object Export panel (Panels -> Object Export).

Select the object and add them as separate exports using the third icon in the bottom row.

Setup the file formats at the lower section of the panel (may need to resize the panel to see all options).
And then use Export All from the panel menu.
