I seem to need to always go in and re-open the default palette each time I open VS. It does not stay open along with the other tool panels. Ideally I want to add that palette panel to an arrangement of tool panels that opens every time I open VS. Is there a way to do that aside from making a template?

@Boldline The Palette panel will stay open, but it will show the palette of the current document.
Currently the only option is to change the palette of the document, or set up a new template,

There is one task (new feature) in the backlog, to allow custom palettes to be selected for a new document.
