Offset Path affects neighboring shapes

I noticed when I added text to this design and then tried to create an offset path, it affected nearby objects, particularly the clipping group in front of it. Here is the video

@vectoradmin Minor note: I know I could move the two words up and out from under the object over top and add the offset path there without issue, but the principal of it to me is that if it can be fixed, it probably should be for times when it can't be moved up or simply because it "should" work without interfering with other object nearby...
