Could you please explain in detail how Direct Shape Transformation (found in Settings/Editing) actually works? How do I use it?

@William-Kansepa said in Direct Shape Transformation: Could you please explain in detail how Direct Shape Transformation (found in Settings/Editing) actually works? When the "Direct Shape Transformation" option in disabled:
Scaling objects will add (or modify) a "Transform" shape effect on the object (can be seen in the Shape Effects panel).
These transformations are non-destructive and can be removed. When the "Direct Shape Transformation" option in enabled:
For object with certain shape types (rectangle, ellipse) and no shape effects, the shape parameters (width/height) are modified when scaling. This is "destructive", no Transform effect is added and cannot be removed (but can be undone).

@VectorStyler thank you for your response. Am trying to follow you, but I am witnessing the same visual results in the Shape Effects panel whether the command is enabled or disabled.
Perhaps a video would immensely help.

@William-Kansepa Yes, a video would help. What is the shape type of the object?

@VectorStyler even a simple rectangle will be perfect.

@William-Kansepa I will need a recording (Shape Effects panel included), and then send me the vstyler file also.
