Currently, the Object >> Transform >> Transform... modal opens showing the same values when this modal was last used.

It would be ideal if it showed the last transform done, regardless of whether it was done using this window or using the manual transform tools (Move, Scale, Rotate, Skew, Reflect) or done with the object transform handles, or even the movement of a node with the node tool.

The benefit is that you can then repeat transforms in a more controlled way than the simple "Repeat" command. eg. move an object or node by eye, then move another by half that distance, by entering /2 after the value shown.

This would need to apply to the individual Move..., Scale..., Rotate..., Skew..., Reflect... modals as well - always pre-populated with the last transform of each type.

The behaviour would be similar to FreeHand and Illustrator but I'm not seeing a way to do this in VS.

Even better if there was a non-modal floating Transform panel like FreeHand.

The existing Transform panel in VS only shows current attributes of the selected object.

@Raven Added this to the backlog.
Not sure about the floating panel mode. Maybe having a different "mode" set from the panel menu, for the existing Transform panel
