I was referring to the fact that there were control settings on the drop shadow, not the actual drop shadow features themselves. Sorry for the confusion!

Boldline means adding two control handles at the handle end when operating the contour tool, to manually set the parameters: width and steps.

The shadow has a blur (image effect) and it cannot have steps.
